What We Do

The UMCA is an active student organization on the University of Washington campus. From weekly meetings to hosting career fairs, UMCA students are busy throughout the year.
Weekly Meetings

  • Host prominent speakers, resume workshops, and interview workshops
  • Provide dinner (Pizza, Quiznos, QFC Platters, etc.)
  • Brain Teasers and Prize Giveaways
Guest Speakers

We have speakers present at our meetings from various companies and industries. The topics range widely depending on the specific expertise of the speaker. Some of our past speakers include:
  • Bob Campbell, Managing Director for Lehman Brothers
  • Mike Vanderslice, Vanderslice Consulting
  • Beth Wright, Recruiter for Towers Perrin Consulting
  • Vishal Shah, Cascadia Capital
  • Ben Thomason, Fidelity Investments
Business Career Fair

We organize and sponsor the University of Washington Business Career Fair during the fall quarter. It features over 70 companies and 2000 students, and enables direct interaction with corporate recruiters.
High Profile Career Night

Three prominent executives from various companies and industries speak to the entire business school and economics school. The speakers share their insight and discuss the lessons learned as they rose to the top of their respective company.
Alumni Events

UMCA hosts one alumni event per year where current UMCA Members interact with past UMCA Alumni to potentially create internship and career opportunities.
